292 rods can be fit to a 235 or 261 crank to increase (or decrease) the stroke slightly by eccentric regrinding to the smaller 292 journal size (2.100" vs. 2.311"), but it's a lot of expensive and delicate work.

The two engines are similar only in the fact that they are made by GM. everything from bore spacing to number of bearing journals, etc. are different. If you have a 292, use the 292.
