I was wondering what size bolts mount the cab and bed to the frame. I need to weld cage nuts on and no distributors will tell me what size the bolts are that come in their cab mount kits. Can anyone tell me?

I also still plan on using a stock cab mount system. I may just end up cutting ovals in the boxing plates anyway.
On a side note, I had a hard time finding floating weld retainer nuts (basically strong cage nuts) that would work for this application. Most people who sell them do so in bulk. I e-mailed the people at Ohio Nut and Bolt Company and told them the situation. They were kind enough to ship me enough for my project as a sample. If any of you run a business where you may need fasteners, I suggest using them, they were fantastic. And I am in no way affiliated with them, I am just an idiot in a one car garage.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 99 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 99 | My '56 GMC uses two 1/2" bolts with three grade marks and two 3/8" also with three marks. I think the 1/2 " ones are on the front of the floor, the smaller under seat/gas tank. Hope this helps.
