There is an extra arm on the accelerator pedal linkage that may have something to do with it? There must have been a clamp similar to the choke cable clamp as well.
It's a 283 w/ Rochester 2-jet as found, but originally an inline 6.
Sometimes you got to leave 'em like you found 'em.
| | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy KD Kibbe, the throttle linkage for a 1958 V8 Chev truck [55B-59] was all rods and no cables, and is totally different from the throttle pedal out to the carb, from the rods used on the 6 cylinder engines. You used to be able to buy all the stuff as a kit, from various suppliers.

If someone cobbled some linkage together it can be replaced by the correct linkage as 3B mentioned. You should be able to fabricate a bracket to attach the throttle cable if you really need it. You can increase the engine speed with the choke for cold operation which makes the throttle cable redundant.
