How is the best way to install them and get them in the original position? I drilled out the spot welds and I am not a good spot weld so I guess I will use 5/16 bolts instead of spot welds. thanks for your advise,

I am not sure how you could bolt them on and not have a bolt head or nut showing on the out side. Most of them would be under the fenders, but the end one would show. Maybe some one makes a special bolt set for this. Check with the vender's in the Links section.

Go to the link and scroll down to the instruction for Angle Strip removing and installing for 54-72 GM trucks. For exposed bolts, use Acorn nuts to protect the threads and for cleaner appearance.
