I have owned a long 68 bed Chevy since 1986 and I have never seen a leaf spring truck from that era. I bought one a couple of years ago and I'm just now getting around to finding out just what it is. So wheres all the Chevy/GMC gurus from those great years 67-72. IS IT RARE OR JUST ANOTHER TRUCK!

Leaf springs were standard under GMC trucks of the era. Coils were standard under Chevys.

leaves could be ordeed on a chevy but they were a rarity the chevy dealers did not do a lot of custom ordering exept in the cab chassis format possibly your truck was ordered as a cab chasis and the bed was put on the truck by the dealer because he got a good deal on a grouup of trucks in that format it was more common that way have fun joe

Speaking of rare I had coil overload springs on my 49 Chevy half ton. Every Chevy guru I have spoken with has never heard of them.
