Hey I'm just another new guy to this world. I just purchased a 62' Chevy C-10 about a week and a half ago. I haven't even seen it in person yet considering I'm currently deployed in Iraq with the U.S. Army. I'm just sitting here trying to figure out where I should start with this new project any ideas or incite would help.

From a fellow Cheesehead, welcome to the 'bolt.

I would get it running, stopping, etc. all the safety stuff done first. Then drive it. Then take on each issue as a small project vs stripping it down, getting overwhelmed and then selling it as a pile of parts.

Scott

Hey welcome Keith and we appreciate your efforts in Iraq. It's hard to formulate a plan without seeing the truck, but I think Scott has the right idea.

Welcome aboard!! I'm in total agreement - get her road ready - drive awhile - she'll tell you what to do first.

Welcome to the bolt Keith. Thanks for your service.

Keith you may want to consider getting a vendor catalog from someone like JimCarter and just "look" at it getting familiar with whats available and maybe underline some of the things you know you will need.
The good thing is you can find most parts for your 62 without having to turn to vendors and shipping charges. A LOT of stuff is available for your truck at the local parts houses.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Another Wisconsion Bolter - This is Great!

First of all, thanks for your service! I hope your tour goes well, and your return turn your family safely!

During your deployment make sure your give us a posting whenever you can, maybe your fellow 'Bolters can give you some suggestions and help in the planning process. We've got a lot of ideas!

Speaking of ideas, maybe there should be a forum that we could use to keep in contact with our service people!
