If that's the roof overhang at the windshield,I believe fellow bolter Alan's57 had similar problems.
I realise there is the age difference but rot is rot,whether it's a '57 or a '64!

If I remember correctly, he had to cut out the rust and replace it with donor panels cut from a junk truck.
Here's a link to his Photobucket page have a look through the pics or alternatively shoot him a PM.
I'm pretty sure he'll give you some good advice.
Good luck.

Man, that is a bad place to have rust. I would strip that thing down and see how bad the rest of the rust is. I would get it sand blasted by some one who has done old cars for some of the resto shops. If the entire top is rusted I might be looking for another CAB. You might could just get a top. or cut out a piece of a top like that.. If the floor, rockers, cab corners and the pillars are gone... I would be looking for a cab myself.

I had mice build a nest there in my '56, and fixed rust such as by your thumb by using por-15 on the outside, cutting a hole inside the cab, taping the holes with masking tape on the outside, putting por-15 on the inside, then within 6 hrs using resto-grip filler (from the por-15 people) on the inside. Worked great initially, time will tell if the rust reappears. The hole your finger is in seems like a bigger kettle of fish. I second Michael's assessment if there are big holes. However, sand blasting may take out metal that may be saved with por-15 and fibreglas sheets.

Well, my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-splitly
Out to my ol' 55.
