Fellows for the life of me I can't remember how the headlight switch is removed from the dash. I know the stem comes off the switch but can't remember how to get it loose. Now to top it off my friend has my manuel and he is on vacation for a month.

there should be a little metal button with a small spring. depress and pull out knob and shaft. can't remember if you have to turn it one way or another also

Yes, turn it all the way to the left dome light on position.
