I keep seeing a 1960 shortbed truck an my way to work, and was wondering if I could swap out the body with my 1949 Chevy truck. What do you think?

I'm going to go ahead and say no, because the wheelbases of the two generations are probable different and the width of the frames may be an issue. I'm not 100% sure on these and I know someone will be along shortly to give a definative answer. You could look up the wheelbase specs for the respective years.

Anything can be done with these old trucks. I think what you really mean to ask is, "is it easy?". And the answer is, maybe, but probably not.

Frame swaps are a lot of work under the best of circumstances. A '60 would get you a limited run front suspension that is hard to get parts for, in addition to being too wide in front.

I would say anything is possible, but this is a case where its not a good idea.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
