well i just posted an swap meet ad and then read the rules kinda like when you assemble something and then read the directions but nobody ever does that right? anyways i posted ad for multiple trucks and parts and did not read that a price must be included so i edited it but put 1$-? so wonder if that is acceptable or should i have done seperate ad for every truck hope i dont have to do it that way, anyways i was thinking that it would be cool if there was swapmeet section for bigbolts only, what says you guys

Ha!!! You have asked a question that has been asked often ... but not 20,000 times yet.

The forum software isn't the best software for doing classified stuff. We had two separate programs about eight (?) years ago, and it required a different password / log-in than the regular forum. Well, we had so many issues with folks not remember which was which, we decided just to find a way to combine them.

Now, that was in the day when we were still only 1 million hits a month. And when we also spent a lot of time clearing out rattan furniture out of the Swap Meet.

The Internet has come a long way; but we haven't kept up too well. The Swap Meet seems to be working well enough and we've got as many categories as we can manage. George and Joe have done a great job in setting up the guidelines and keeping the place fairly neat and orderly.

If you wonder what is the best way to post something in there, as one of them. They are in there constantly and have contact with the regulars. So, I'm sure they could tell you what will work best.

As to a Swap just for Big Bolts ... we've talked about that, too. I won't say that it won't happen. I can only say we can't do it yet.

The bigger question is should we get "classified" software -- it would enable better categories and better searching.

Make a list of the trucks with prices in one ad.
In a seperate ad make some kind of list of parts with prices.
Don't just put 3-4 items w/prices down and then mention you have LOTSS more other parts because it'll be delete again.
99% of the folks that use our Swap Meet area follow the rules & put prices w/trucks for sale and/or a parts list w/prices. But Please understand that you're not being singled out, myself and the other moderater are only doing what the owner have told us to do. And that is to delete truck ads that we find w/no prices and to delete parts ads(for sale) that do not have a list of parts and/or prices.

As far as a seperate section for big bolts, that is something you'd have to take up w/Peggy/John t he owners of the site..Joe

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
