Thank you for your help in advance, Pat & Patty | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 502 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 502 | First ya have to have a feeler gauge and a plug gap tool. The plug gap tool comes in a few different forms, choice being that of the mechanic. I would get a small feeler gauge as they are handier than the normal sized ones for use in the distributor. As far as how to it,I would get a manual with pictures so you have it always, and the pics will help a lot. Beings you are up in Illinois and its already getting cool put 10w-30 in that thing. Back in the 50's when they built that thing they used 10, 20, or 30w depending on the temp outside and straight weight oils are getting a little hard to find and not necessary anymore. As to the brand of oil most brands will work just fine, but I'd stay away from Penzoil and use something better. The real key is not who's oil but how often you change it. On stuff I don't drive a whole I'll change every 1000 miles. Dan
