Is there a short answer for a t5 swap. I spent 2 hours reading all the previous posts and now no less than when I started.
Here's what I have.
1955 second series 3100
1986 S10 5 speed
adapter plate for transmission to bell housing.
What do I need.
clutch disc ??
Pressure plate ??
driveshaft yoke ??

Thanks

Will bolt up to your 55 bellhousing-but you need to compare the input shaft/splines to your original trans and make it the same.
You can get an adaptor from Buffalo Ent, but not totally necessary, adaptor takes up the space you'de need to trim off the longer T-5 input shaft and the spline length problem goes away also. Clutch disc. needs to be same as your old one, but the T-5 has different splines, that's the rub, stock pressure plate is fine. Drive shaft/trans yoke needs to be late model, I used the one off my old Saginaw 4speed, these are common so no problem Also get over to Inliners.org website ane read their tips also. good luck

Sounds like you are getting close. If you have a spacer you will not need to shorten the shaft or the bearing retainer & you will not need to grind the splines on the shaft. You need to drill the mounting holes out to 1/2 in. Real easy because they are just a little smaller then that. You will need a clutch disc. with the 14 splines. I noticed in a Carquest clutch catalog they have a clutch kit to use when putting a V-8 engine in an S-10 pickup. A very popular swap lately. I did one several years ago but used an auto. trans. If your flywheel uses an 11 in clutch, that would be a good way to go. I am going to do another one soon & will go that way. If you want just the disc you will need to get a clutch shop to make one up. There is one in Springfield Mo. that does a lot of them. Bowtietim got his there. You need the later model fine spline yoke like Jim says & measure the drive shaft & get a drive shaft shop to shoten yours to fit. Get allen head or small hex head bolts to mount the trans. I like to put a crossmember under the rear but some fellow Bolters don't. Hows that for a short answer.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

is there enough spline left when using the adaptor plate for the clutch disc?
one can get a clutch disc seperate. I did just get an 11" by itself. there is a tendency these days to buy a clutch kit assy, that is ok if it is for a std install, but this isn't.
you do not require another crossmember as he stated. that is just like someone wearing suspenders and a belt at the same time

With adapter plate, no modifying splines of S-10 based T5 (and those of the v6 Camaro). Without adapter plate, you need to truncate the pilot, bearing retainer and lengthen the splines to get the clutch to shift back far enough.

If you build a hybrid using the V8 camaro front section or have a unit from an Astro Van, no modification, no adapter plate needed.
