hello to all fellow stovebolter's (?) just bought a 1953 3/4ton Chevy pickup!(yay)Truck has sat since 04.PO said something in the top end went and he couldn't fix it,so he decided to sell.
the truck is pretty much stock, minus the rear tailgate (which i'm searching for) and bumper.anyhow, the model numbers on the side of the hood dont match anything that I've seen on here or anywhere for that matter.they read "Chevrolet 1420", i can't seem to find anything online that explains them.
anyone with info would sure be mutchly appreciated!
cheers!

Hey Ben welcome to the site. Yep, your truck is a beauty all right. I am quite certain that the 1420 simply means that it is a Canadian built 3/4 ton pick up truck. Most online info deals with the US built trucks. You could ask in the general truck talk forum. Maybe 3B can help you figure it out for sure.

Anyway, enjoy the restoration journey, keep us posted on your progress and don't forget to meet the 'BC bolters', they're quite an active bunch.
