I have a 1955 IH truck that is the same size as a 1954 chevy 6400. My original MC was far too gone and new ones are made of unobtainium.
Recently i brought a MC off of a 1979 dodge 350 that has a brake booster attached to it so i could have a temporary MC for brakes. I got it from pull a part and when i went back today i found out that it has front disc brakes.
I thought i remember it have drum to drum system.
So even though the MC is a dual diaphragm and was on a disc/drum system, can i still use it with my original brake system?

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 452 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 452 | If it has internal residual valves you will probably have trouble. The residual for disks is 10psi, 2 for drums. I think your front brakes will drag. I don't know if they can be removed or changed.
