There is not a small block on the throttle linkage similar to the choke cable connection. The choke cable connection is a small block with a hole in it and a set screw. Does the throttle cable attach the same way? Where can I get one of the small connection blocks? As always thanks for the help  | | | | | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,839 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 2,839 | Just looked at mine and the throttle cable goes down from the top with the housing stopping at the top of the carb and the cable/wire continuing through a little hole in the throttle linkage bar that comes up from the engine block pivot area. Once through this little hole the cable/wire is secured by yes another block similar to the choke setup.
If this confuses the heck out of you, I can alway post a pic later tonight.

Where can I get one of the little blocks to secure the throttle cable???? :confused: | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 1,820 |  I would think if you took a stroll through a wrecking yard where there are some older Chevy pick ups and older Chevy cars (40's to early 50's), you should be able to find a bracket that attaches the choke cable and throttle cable to the carb. Another place where I have found some older carb parts is a rebuilders shop. One in Fort Worth has old carbs they rebuild and the brackets are on some of those carbs. I had to talk for quite awhile to get them to sell me some parts like that, but finally got what I needed. Also, some looking at the swap meets should turn one up. You may have to buy an old carb core, but having the bracket might be worth $5.00 - $10.00. The little cable stop piece is something you can get at a good hardware store or a lawn mower repair shop. They use cable stops on mowers and edgers. NAPA should also have the cable stops.

The choke cable is done, but where does the throttle cable hool too.
