I noticed that the stampings are deeper in the original floor than they are in some after market floors. Is there any guide lines concerning stamping depths? Specifically how deep they should be? I mean, they are clearly there, just shallow, like an 1/8th of an inch or so. | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 649 | Not much you can do about the re-pop parts, most of them come from one supplier. In most cases the floor will be covered with insulation/rubber mats/carpet, ect. | | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 283 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 283 | Not much you can do about the re-pop parts, most of them come from one supplier. I search eBay quite regularly for NOS patch panels and it is surprising how many appear. I like the old made in USA panels better better than the imports because they are more similar to the parent metal and therefor weld easier and I just don't like imported reproductions. I have bought some NOS panels from this guy http://www.surplussupplyco.com/catalog.htm He also sells imports, but he has a lot of NOS stashed away. | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats | Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 | Find your local sheet metal guy that does generator enclosures and products like that. He will most likely have a turret punch that he is using and can stamp out panels with beads. You may pay a bit for them, however it is an option. (plus you can get them out of 18 gauge or 16 gauge)

Probably need to check over at the VCCA site. They have judged events and it's an excellent resource for "correct" restoration information.
