I pulled the fuel tank on my 42 and am in the process of cleaning it inside and out. I noticed that the fuel outlet has been broken off flush with the tank. I have no idea what the fitting looked like that screwed into the tank. It broke off flush so I guess I will have to drill it out or maybe use a reverse drill bit and hope it comes out then re-tap...right? Are these fitting available still or is it just some universal fitting I could buy at a hardware or Autoparts store? Any help would be great and a picture would be even better. Thanks. Chris
I don't know if this will help but my 38 uses a brass 1/8" NPT thread petcock. No matter what the thread is, the ease of removal will depend on the amount of crud built up on the exposed threads inside the tank. I'd probably start with some good penetrating oil, an easyout and a gentle touch. Good luck!
