I posted this over on the "Big-Bolt" section, but still haven't gotten the info that I need........Will late model GM 16" Dually wheels fit on my 64 C-30 dually? Some say that the rear drums will hit the inside of the wheels, and I have heard that the lug nuts are different, but still have not confirmed any of the above. I need to get an answer soon, as I have a guy holding a set of six for me, until I let him know if they will work. Can anyone help me out????? Thanks!

take your truck to his place and try them on the rear and you find out ive gotten some problems on mine putting chevy wheels on mine and solved it with f**d rims and dodge rims they have the largest center and also no lip in the rim to hit the drums it depends on the wheels sincerly mojaveb

I know that there is somthing about the lugnuts but the wheels I'm sure fit, I have seen lugnut sets either on here or on the 60-66gmcguy page that are conversions from metric to sae, I can't remember where exactly but noticed it because they were on a 60-66 GM truck somewhere and looked into it just nosing around one day

That's what I thought too, but a lot of people say the rear drums won't clear the inside of the new style wheels?? I think the fronts are plug and play, but the rears are a problem........wish I had one to try on mine!

All I can think of is like the other guy said, take your truck over to the guy that has the wheels for sale and try one on for size.

I need to find replacement lugnuts 7/8 wrench x 20 thread wedge nuts any sources ? for my 59 one ton 8 lug dually.,

Service Supply shows part number 98908. I can see if I can locate my Napa catalog (might be at the shop) to get their numbers.

I have a '65 Chevy C30 dually. It had factory split rims on it, which were lug-centric. I acquired a set of later model dually rims and they are not lug-centric, so they don't fit properly. If they were hub-centric or lug-centric, they would have worked, so I think the important thing is making sure, if they fit over the hub, they are lug-centric.

Hello, I got rid of the lock ring wheels on my 66 c30 years ago. to do it right takes a little work but its not hard. First find 6 16" budd type rims off of a c30, these were used from the late 70's through 1990, get the plates and lug nuts with them if possible.These rims should clear the drums just fine,but if you have any doubts test fit one of the rears first. You will need all new 9/16 lug bolts long ones for the rear and short ones for the front. disassemble all 4 drums and hubs(good time to clean/check wheel bearings and replace seals) bore the drums and hubs out to accept the 9/16 studs. I did it one sunday afternoon on my dads big drill press with a 17/32 drill bit(you might want to double check on the drill bit size as its been over 10 years and I cant find the actual bit I used). Press in the new studs, reassemble everything and bolt on your new rims. I recommend using 215/85r16 tires as anything wider may rub. You will be amazed at the difference in ride and handling.....Mike
