I am restoring my 1950 Chevy COE model 5700. When I cleaned the inch of oily dirt off of the air cleaner, it had a big AC decal. I took a digital picture of it to take to a sign shop to reproduce the decal but so much of the decal was missing it won't help. Does anyone have a decent original decal left that they could send me a picture by email? This is for the heavy duty frame mounted COE oil bath air cleaner.

I'm not sure if you ever found the decal or the verbiage you were looking for, but I've got a '51 COE I'm restoring and have recently been hunting for what I'm guessing is the same decal. Mine's not perfect but I've got a digital picture of what it looks like if it would help you.

Can you post that picture. I can't find Lightholders picture anymore.

When I get time I will see if my sign shop can make a reproduction decal. I did make one, using a decal for a V8 as a template that is available through the vendors. The verbage is similar, but not the same and the font is slightly different. I will let you all know if I come up with something worthwhile.

Kent, George Richards here. Phoenix. can't help you with the decal but saw your post and wanted to say "hey". Hope this finds you well. Work on my truck goes very slowly, but still making progress. Had the seat back you gave me upholstered. Looks great. Had to recore radiator and luckily listened to you and installed gas shut off on floor because needle seat valve started to leak. Have not put it on road yet but am driving it around storage yard.

George, glad to hear you are making progress. Perhaps I will see you at the Watson Lake show.

The image sent to me by dhjmd is at the sign shop. If I am happy with the result, I will have several vinyl decals made. Also, I asked the lady at the shop if she would email the image to me and she said yes (they own the copyright). That will allow me to make water slide decals (just like the ones for your model plane). To do that, you buy the paper and just print it on your home printer, then spray with clear Krylon. That way the ink survives the brief water soak to apply the decal.

If the sign shop comes through for me, I will make the decals, both vinyl and water slide, available to those who want one. Now you realize only a crazy person would care about a decal that you can only see laying flat on your back under a big truck.

I have both water slide decals and vinyl decals (a few of each)or I can email you a pdf with twelve tiled images from which you can print your own. They are scaled to print the original size (3 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches). This is not a solicitation, as I don't want any money for these (I only have a few). Send me a private message if any of you who own advance design COEs want these.
