I could not get it to work as the plunger ( new 2 speed switch ) for the WS washer pump would not let the knob attach. My burb ( 63 GMC 4x4 ) came to me with no washer pump, and the knob does not have a hole or depression for a plunger ( if that's the right word. I even drilled a hole in the knob ( to push it onto the switch ) but I can not hook the switch up to the motor and get 2 speeds...just one speed!!!!What am I missing here? Were there switches from 6o to 63 without WS washer kits. If so were there 2 speed switches without washer kits. I have hooked up an aftermarket washer kit and installed an independent switch for it ( works fine ). Now the problem is can I fine a 2 speed switch without the plunger for the washer kit.
Couldn't explain it in less words!!!

There were 2 speed and 1 speed wiper motors, and 2 speed and 1 speed wiper switches. If you have a single speed motor, then a 2 speed switch does no good and vice versa. Case in point is my '63 C20. It had a 1 speed switch with a 2 speed motor with the washer option. And to confuse matters even more, there are two different styles of 2 speed wiper motors for '63. One has 3 terminals, the other has 4. Most of the ones I have seen are either single speed motors or 4 terminal 2 speed motors. You need to figure out whether the wiper motor is actually a 2 speed motor or not.
Now.... whether or not you can get a new aftermarket wiper knob or a 2 speed switch without the provision for the washer I am not sure. The washer was optional in '63, and you may have to find someone with an original 2 speed switch without the washer option. Also, in case you or anyone else was wondering, the original style washer pump on a '63 is the same as '64-'72 it's just that parts books list it as being different even though it's not.
