I know its not an oldie, but,am gonna give it a shot anyway.About 3-4 years ago,i went thru a period of my truck not starting. It would quit while driving,i would coast to the side of the road, put it in park, wait for the glow plug light to go out, then it would start.Or,i would get to where i was going, come out an 1hr later,it would'nt start, try 10 min. later, running.
The shop i was dealing with at the time replaced the injector pump and the fuel pump.My question is,has anybody here had problems with a 6.5 motor.I don't want to keep replacing parts,it's to d-mn expensive!Your thoughts, gentlemen please.

sincerely, Roy (one eared dicky)

Did they replace the injector control box? Its expensive, but bet thats the problem. They shut off when they want, sometimes start back up, sometimes not. When they get hot it gets worse. We started mounting them off the injector pump up on the firewall to help keep them cool. The new boxes you get now, are different, so GM has made an improvement on them. We have had no problem with the style box. Joe
