old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 4 | Well I thought I might as well just jump in and get this first post over with. I have a 1953 / 5 window truck I purchased from a neighbor several years ago. I always wanted a 53 for some reason but mainly because my Dad used to have a old Chevy. This project has now been on the back burner for some 12 years or better (kids in college, grandkids, aging parents, etc). I started a IFS kit 8 years ago but didn't finish because of frame problems (a total waste of money) and now with the S-10 kits avalible I have aquired a rolling S10 chassis (long WB) and a 4-wheel drive rear end. Plans are for a 350 4-bolt main w/700r tranny. All the parts are on hand. I just need some time to get-r-done! I have found a lots of great advice already here and look foward to getting my truck project started again very soon. Sure this site is a big help, you will also get to meet some that may live closer than you think.
I wish you all the best.

Hey, plan now to join in the Southern Stovebolt Reunion here in Spartanburg the end of May2010.
I understand about kids, college ect. I had to wait for years to really get "into it". Now is your time to shine. Just do a little something on it every day...even for just 5 minutes and you will be amazed how much gets done. There are other Georgia guys around here. I'm sure they will pop up here somewhere. Good luck and if ever up my way drop me a line and drop in. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 4 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 4 | I will try to post a link to a photo of my 53,at least I'll give it a shot.
