I was wondering if any of you could tell me if a starter from a 1953 suburban will work in a 1938 big bolt tow truck.
both engines are original i'm just not sure what engine is in the 1953.

The Chevy 216 came out in 1937, and that starter will work on 6 volt Chevy 235s, and 261s, and 6 volt GMC 228, 236, 248, 256, 270, and 302 civilian, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 54 | 3B,
