I have found a 1963 C10 that I am considering restoring. The only problem is there is a large patch of rust on the driver side door. Heres a link Kijiji Prince George

There are better candidates to be found. I would pass on this one, unless you want it for parts.

Parts, There is someone looking for a grill in the want ads. The front window looks good, they are $$. Can only guess how much rust there is underneath. Parts and maybe not many of those.

Definitely pick it up for parts!
I like the '63 the best, because it's got the wrap-around windshield, and the later-style front suspension (which is a LOT cheaper to rebuild).

Grab it, then hunt for a bit better starting point. But a good parts truck is nice to have--misc. nuts and bolts, straight bumper brackets, under-hood bits, spare tire mounting hardware, etc. etc. etc.

For $50, it'd already be at my house.

I see that it has alberta plates on it so you will have to put it through inspection before you can get it registered in b.c.. if you buy it to repair make sure that you haave all the proper registration before you start work on it as you cannot get it inspected until it is in proper working order. the catch 22 is that it has to be legal for street use before you can get it registered.
pr george is a long way from anywhere if you have to ship parts to anyone

Lets be real it would take way to much $$$$ to repair that. But for $50 you cant go wrong for parts at all. As a mater of fact Iam looking for a mirrior like the one on the pass side. Does the truck have seat belts, Is the dash the waring light one or the gauge one? Buy it for parts or just yard art. Can never have to many parts trucks!!! Thats my 2 cents.

If you do buy this to part it out, I may be interested in that windshield...it looks pretty good. I could use one for my 61. I think if you have the room at your place to park this somewhere, buy it and use it for parts, and/or part it out. It will make you more than 50 bucks.

Definitely get it for parts! That truck is in pretty tough shape and would require lots of cash to fix, but you could partially fund another truck just by selling parts off that one.

man, i wish i could get one like that for $50 ...all those parts i need for my 62!!

Not having seen how much rust is underneath or what is left of the interior, I'm still a little hesitant. If all the parts that are salvageable are those in the pics. There is not a lot of profit to be made, considering time involved. At $50 though it would be a good experience and make the buyer aware of what old truck projects are.

$50.00? Id pay that for the hubcaps on it, they are really hard to find in my area

I am trying identify who's place that is. I do recognize that sign on that IHC tandem in the background.I did live there for 23 years and sold for IHC on 1st ave and was an IHC partsman for years out in vanderhoof. if you could help me I would appreciate it

yep, i seen that last night, but didnt have a chance to reply. I was out of town for a week and had quite a few emails to go through.

I would definitely snatch that up. Matter of fact I have purchased one just like it (except paint color) that has provided me a lot of small parts for an ongoing resto. Nuts bolts, clips, brackets, ect. WELL worth the price.

This is an amazing network here and you can always unload ANYTHING you don't need. Plus... you'll help another bolter out and gain a valuable friend when you might need something.

The wife thinks I am a "Crusader" because I seem to gravitate towards buying the most rusted, clapped out trucks I can find.
As far as saving it???? Wow.... thats a lot of metalwork.... and trust me... you can only see HALF of what will probably need repaired.
But then... the satisfaction of restoring is a lot of things to a lot of people.
To me... I get a lot out of saving something like that from extinction. They are getting fewer and farther between... not to mention pricier.

I'd buy it to restore, just like I'm doing. thing is people buy projects that have no engine or any powertrain, but good body....I did just the opposite haha body bad, but all the drivetrain, powertrain and frame is excellent Plus, it depends where you live. If you live where old trucks never see rust, then get it for parts, but here in WI thats almost impossible.
