I took the three bolts on either end out and it loosened it up, but it feels like its still attached somewhere. Any help is appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 | It's spot welded all along the bottom of the window shield. Depending on your plan you will have cut the spot welds or cut the dash out. Why GM put the three bolts on the ends and then spot welded the rest, I have no idea unless it was for assembly.

You should remove the windshield and drill out the spot welds. It's a major job, not an unbolt and go type of thing. But it's doable if you're prepared for it. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 37 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 37 | Thanks for the info. I didnt ralize it was spotwelded in. Explains why all the beating and pushing I did didn't budge the thing. I think I will just leave it in and do what I need to do that way. Thanks for the info on the instrument cluster as well. I tried to pull it out and had a lot of trouble with it too. It is very helpful to know whats holding you up, so you dont tear something up in the process.

That sucked. Chevy builds them so tough you cant even get them apart. Anyway, any ideas on how to clean the haze off the instrument glass. Glass looks good just has a little bit of haze on the outside. It will not remove scratches. The last time I bought plastic. I picked up some Novus 1,2,3, scratch remover and "Clean and Shine". Haven't given it a good try yet. $2.50 to 4.50 a 2 oz. bottle. www.novuspolish.comLarry
