this maybe the most asked question when building any type of truck or car....but I would like to know what you think. NO trailer queen, will be driven most weekends everywhere.
1948 1/2 t, sb chevy, 327(little beefy)
10 bolt rear (auto car gears).
Muncie 4speed or 400 turbo (or 700r4)

I can always put a auto in my truck but its kinda hard to put the pedal and shifter in.
Thats why I would like to hear from more of you seasoned drivers.

I have been known on 3 different occasions to rip out an automatic and install a manual transmission on my vehicles. I prefer by far to drive manual. Both my panel truck and my '69 Chevelle have 4 speeds in them. I think i'm gonna go ahead and install my muncie 4 ....It's just something about an ol truck and a 4 or 5 speed.

I like shifting mine, but a lot of people like the ease of installing the automatic. Plus the automatic allows you to shift everything forward more, to get better firewall clearance.
