I know I need to buy the gasket + the exhaust gasket.
What I don't know is where do I find the gasket that goes between the intake & exhaust manifold where they touch under the carb?
Also - I saw something about intake alignment rings? What are those & do I need these? Can't I just slap on the new gasket with some sealer and torque it down? | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | Get Fel-Pro #MS 9193 B. That's a complete intake/exhaust manifold set, and included the gasket for the heat riser. The intake/exhaust gasket is 3 peices, 2 end peices and a center peice. As far as the port rings go, they're not 100% necessary, but they do make aligning the intake to the head alot easier. Unless they've been removed from your engine, you don't ned to replace them. just re-use the originals. I personally use Permatex High Tack part #80062 for the intake gaskets.

I have not pulled the intake yet as I still want to drive the truck here & there. I plan to pull them next month when I settle in for the winter & wasn't sure what I needed to buy to get the job done. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 208 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 208 | I finally got around to installing the new gasket & bolts. I used a copious amount of high temp muffler gasket sealer & the truck runs like new!
