im ready to put all my new glass in when i noticed that i have a missing pivot pin in one of my vent windows. i ordered new pins but have no idea how to replace them . has anyone done this and can you give me ideas thks rick

you mean this pin on top? you have to take the frame apart to replace the glass frame, and that pin is a swedged press fit, usually if the pins right gone the frame is hooped - see more pics here - where did you find just the pins??

classic chevy parts in oklahoma sells the pins. the window frams are sound very easily cleaned up except this pivot pin is missing. it looks like its riveted in . before i tear them apart. have you ever replased them

no, but I've tightened one - like I said, it's a press fit, peened in place, and part of the piece the glass goes in - the small plate that the pin goes thru is riveted to the outer frame - this piece, it's one of the tabs that secures the vent assembly into the door

oh - also, for the riveting, in order to get that frame back in, the outer frame must be removed from the division bar - that takes rivets, similar to the ones that hold the rubber seal on

i have all those pieces and all in good shape. just missing the pin. they are only $3.00 for a pair. it looks like the pin just fell out somewhere. thks when i get them ill try to peen them in, in the mean time im going to soak the lower section with the spring in some diesel. thks for the help talk soon rick.
