If it bothers you push it in some. You can tune the length for the band you listen to most. You will have to push it in an inch or so and then back away so your body isn't changing the reception. Probably not going to make a ton of difference but you can push it in some. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 1,388 | Come now, its not that bad. I have to remember to lower my antenna when I come home. I've got the 4 section one for my 1-Ton, its six feet tall when out. Helps me pull in all those great AM stations. Well, okay, I love it because I can listen to KIXI from seattle. I am going to put the same giant antenna on my Pontiac, when I get time. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the one on my ol 57 would pick up stations from quite a distance even down all the way, which was about half as high as the windshieldBill | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 211 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 211 | It's not a problem at all, i never use the garage, It gets great reception, and it looks kinda neat flappin all over the place, i was just curious as to why it was made to be that tall. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | I have a reproduction one on my 1951 and the gain increases quite a bit as it is extended. The biggest jump seems to be when it clears the roof of the cab. | | |
