Then: measure the distance from backing plates to spring perches on both sides.
Then: check if the box is centered on the frame.
I suppose if the axle slipped back on the leaf spring on one side, it could rub on one side.
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.

Hit any big pot holes lately? Swerve hard to avoid something? If it isn't two different tires (tire rotation) Then I would suppect that the axle has shifted. Looking forward to hearing what it really is.

Tires are the same and I haven't hit anything... other then the normal here in New England!
How does the bed shift?? I mean, if it's bolted to the frame properly then how would it be out of alignment?
I'm at the garage this evening (to finish replacing the head) so I'm going to do a couple of things:
1) I haven't replaced the bedwood yet, so I'll pull up the temp plywood in place so I can get a better topside visual.
2) Do some measuring of the rear end to make sure that's not out of alignment....
Make sense?? Anything else I should scope out?

Pulled over to the curb, but his left rear was almost in the next lane. Strangest thing I've seen in a LONG time! I guess either the bearings or the C-clips on the axle ends broke.

I think the problem I've been having is that the bed wood is rotted so the bolts attaching the bed to frame are a bit loosy goosy. I ground off the heads last night and pulled the bolts off. Will put new bolts in temporarily until I get a new bed underway.
