First I just want to say hello to everyone. Been an extrmely long time sense I been around these part.

So I have had the fortain to pick up a 52 chevy 4100. only 3 now 4 original owners the first being Greenfield Irrigation Project in Fairfield, Montana. next 2 brother and now me. Ill have to tell that story later.

The truck has not run in 8 years in that time has had the carb off. Im wondering what you guys feel is the best way to handle getting the old boy(name Dam) started. I know the engine has been rebuilt has less then 10,000 mile and the card was rebuilt but never put back on.

Marvel Mistery Oil in all the cyl. let it soak then I would try and turn the engine over by hand if she turns drain the oil and change the filter , refill with some 30 wt. and a little marvel get clean gas to the carb ,I use a gas can with a pc. of hose to the pump . just a little gas down the carb and give her a try . check the plugs and the points first as Your soaking the cly's .fill the rad. with water so if there are any leaks it will not matter .
Good luck, Have fun , Pete
