I have been trying to ID a GM 10 bolt rear end I have. The numbers stamped in the axle tube are: 7FHO 236 The casting number on the center housing are b555771. I would like to use this axle in my 52 if it's a 8.5" 10 bolt but I don't think it is. Any help identifying this rear axle it greatly appreciated.

Hy 52 Rat, a picture would be great, how many axle studs does it have, how many bolts hold the cover on, and what shape is it?

Pull the cover and look for the GM numbers on the outer part of the ring gear. There will be the part number, gear ratio, and date code.
