We would like to find a reman carb but I cant seem to find one anywhere! We have a Rochester 2-Jet with an Automatic Choke. The choke is heat not linkage. The engine is a 283. The carb number is 7008597. Can anyone help us?? | | |

Or find an old timer that can do it. Half the reman carbs don,t work right & don,t match the engine. If you do get a reman Of all things don,t turn in the old carb. untill the the job is done & you are satisfied. Check with Carbking. He posts a lot on this websight & can rebuild it for you or give some ggod advice.

The right 4GC should improve both gas milage and performance. Ask Jon (carbking) for the right numbers to get the perfect carb.

#55880 02/05/2006 5:19 AM | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 926 | the biggest problem I've run into with "rebuilding" carbs is loose throttle shaft clearance. you can probably install a kit in your carb,but if the throttle shaft is worn,you get a variable,intermittent vacuum leak,which will make it impossible to tune properly.Even some professional carb rebuilders overlook this part,so it's worth doing some research first to be sure re-bushing the throttle shaft is part of every rebuild. If Carbking is being recommended on this site,you can be pretty sure you'll get a quality rebuild there. These guys don't settle for cutrate work.
