Can I safely put 650-16 tires on stock rims while maintaining 4600 gross weight capacity?

Are you talking bias ply or radial?

Bias Ply: Load Capacity: 1580 @ 32 psi, 1580 x 4 = 6320 lbs

Radial: No Rating

If you find any brand of a 6 ply tire you should be ok. You can do a search and find many outlets for them.

Good Luck

Do you have a 16" 1941 rim? 4.0 rim section-width?

A 4.5 section width was usually used by GM for use with 6.50x16" bias ply tires.

Still, a professional and knowledgeable tire person would know what size-width bias ply tire will fit on wide rim width.

Yes, and I've seen a bunch of people using 650-16 tires on apparently stock rims and also Jim Carter sells them, but I was worried it would reduce load capacity if I put oversized tires on 4.0 rims.
