I found a big bolt (actually a fire bolt) I want to purchase. Can someone answer some basic questions:

1. Is $3300 a reasonable price for a '65 C60 truck in very good condition?

2. What is payload and towing capacity?

3. Where to find a shop and/or owners manual?

4. Anything to look for (gotchas) before completing the transaction?

5. Does a C60 require a CDL?

c60 is typicaly 18-26,000 lbs loaded.

26,000 is the cut off for c class license, typicaly drivers license. you shouldnt need a cdl to buy or drive it, but it may have air brakes and that can require a endorsement on you license, non commercial w/air. because its a a fire truck you may need to have a non/comm B class w/air.

$3300 is a great price on a firetruck. You shouldn't have the problems that a farm/contractor truck would have with rust and alot of wear. Make sure you check the brakes thoroughly!! By buying such a truck you're way ahead of the game. You should be fine without a CDL. Shop and owners manuals are easily found on ebay.

Hope to see some pictures if you do make the purchase!

Are you going to leave it as a firetruck?
Just curious.
