Have new hardware and was wondering if there should be some lubrication between the leaves as I put them back together? The manual says lubrication is not done other than "time of assembly". Should I put something like Never-seize on them, or just a good grease?

Bought from Jim Carters in a roll. I have assembled the springs but, not on the rd. yet. It looks good and will not pick up road dust and dirt like grease will.

You need to have some friction there inorder for the spring to work as it was designed. Without friction any weight put on the spring is just going to flatten it out. I'm thinking something should be used once when you put them back together the first time, but not much.

I am going to stop by a spring shop. I can't find an auto parts nearby that has the centre spring bolt. I'll ask when I go in.

If your auto parts store doesn't think they can get them ask if they have Dorman products, I've seen spring center bolts on the shelf in Dorman boxes at my local auto parts stores.

I guess as the leaves flatten it makes the pipe roll rather than wear on the bolts.
