I have an older 235 that has a breather tube with a cap.

When the engine is running, there is no puffing or air discharge from the bottom of the vent tube. I think thats good.

When the engine is running you can see oil leaking from beneath the cap. The oil drips down the outside of the vent tube and marks the floor. The oil escaping is constant.

Maybe the cap gasket needs fixing?

Has anyone ever had this problem?

Nothing is coming out of the road draft tube...in fact I feel no air movement from it when the engine is running.

Maybe it is blocked & some pressure is escaping from the cap?

Yes, it sounds like the road-draft tube is blocked/clogged. It is fairly easy to knock the tube out of the block and check to see if it is clogged (it is press-fitted into the block).

You can soak the tube in kerosene in an attempt to unclog it (some people have reported that they burn-out a clogged road-draft tube - I have never done that).

I've used a wallpaper steamer to steam them clean. When they plug they really plug and you should probably cycle some solvent or diesel through it before using the steamer.
