i just bought a 1967 gmc 4x4 3/4 ton. it's in pretty decent shape just needs cab corners and rockers. the steering wanders terrible, it has manual steering and i think i want to do a power steering conversion i figure i'll be about the same price wise to put a manual or power box on it. any ideas what i need or what needs to be done? and i know for a fact its the gear box, because it has a little crack in it, everything else on the front end seems to be tight. thanks mike i have been looking around for kits and i notice power steering gear boxes for 4x4 for the years 1968-1972 is there some kind of a difference between 1967 and 1968 ?

Congrats on your "new" project truck. No time for fishing now since you got work to be done.

well i talked to a guy who has both a 72 and 68 4x4. that are power steering and took a look at the set ups. my manual box only has 3 bolts that bolt it to the frame, where as the power steering boxes have 4 bolts. but the 3 appear to be the same as the 3 of the 4 so i am wondering about getting a spacer bracket and drilling a fourth hole. this should work shouldn't it?
