I'm sure my question has been asked many times. I've read that the S 10 frame swap is very popular for these old trucks. I just inherited a 1941 1/2 ton long bed. It was my grandfather's truck and it has been sitting for over 30 years! I'm only 35. I'd really like to restore it in his honor. Anyway, what year S 10 would be best for this swap? I know about EZ-Swaps.com kits and will probably go with that to save time. I know where a mid 80's S10 extended cab short bed is. Would this work? Thanks in advance!
Dan

Is it too far gone or are you looking for a V8 or modern drivetrain setup? Pics? Very cool that you wanna fix it up in your grandfather's honor. The 41-46 Kit uses many of the same pieces our 47-54 kit. Ed, has the info on his site: http://www.e-zchassisswaps.com/1941.htmSteve | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats | | Grumpy old guy playing with trucks, cars, and boats Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 1,859 | Steve, I stand corrected.
how close is the AD frame to the Art Deco 41-47.1? I know the truck is a bit narrower than the AD's

New Cab/Running board brackets, Radiator support and several other pieces had to be designed for that kit. The Frame you'll want to use is pretty much any of the Regular Cab Long beds (118") 82-04 The newer trucks might have some extra bracketry that needs trimmed (depending on the years) I'd recommend focusing on the older Box Body S-10's Usually they can be had cheaper. The extended cab trucks are 123" and could be made to work, but would require shortening the frame. Give Ed a Call (E-Z Chassis) he designed the kit and is the best to talk to on the 41-46 setup. Tell him Mongo sent ya'. Steve | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 25 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 25 | Thanks Mongo! And everyone else. This will be a driver/hot rod type ride. Not too hot rodded though. LOL. Just a nice old truck that I can be proud of and show off. Don't see trucks or cars like that anymore. Unless you're at a car show. I have a small block, 700r4 trans, and the 4.10 posi rear that came out of my 69' Olds 442 that I can use. I know I'll probably have to trim the rear to fit but, that's alright. Thanks again guys. I'm sure I'll have many more questions.

I just found a Camaro subframe assembly that may be for sale. Would this work in place of a Mustang/Pinto subframe? I don't see why it wouldn't but, just want to ask. Is there a certain year or years of Camaro that works best for this? I don't know the year of the subframe yet. I'll try to get that info tomorrow. And, is there anyone with pics of this swap. Kinda like step by step instructions. It would sure make it easier. Thanks!

I just read some old posts on the GM subframe swaps and got a little turned off. I'll just have to save up some more money. LOL. Anyone know where the cheapest place to by a quality kit is?
