Does anyone know if the tiny tube going to the oil pressure gage on my 46 chev is flared? If so is there a special tool used to form the tubing?

Jimbo's46,

I don't know for sure...most tubing, especially small stuff like 1/8" is not flared but is sealed with a brass ferrule and a compression nut. If you have the fitting from the block, it will tell you the whole story. It would have a female opening the same size as the tube OD, as the tube fits into this fitting.

Mine is sealed with a brass ferrule and a compression nut. Don't know if it's the original setup but that's what I put in and it works.
