I'v just begun working on this truck. It's a '63 1/2 ton, 6 cyl. I noticed that the wire going to the bottom connection of the voltage regulator is missing. I don't have a wiring diagram for this truck yet. What color wire am I looking for? Wouldn't it come out of the main wiring harness on the driver's side?

Go to www.rowand.net, the guy has all kinds of tips and advise on his page. There is even a wiring diagram for a generator that may help.

Joe,

Not sure what wire you are referring to, but here is a link to a wiring diagram for a '63 with six cylinder engine. Hope it sheds some light on your problem.

Okay, I found it. A brown 20 gage wire. Re-connected it to the voltage regulator. Guess what? My battery charges now. Sweet! Thanks for the help, especially the wiring diagram.
