Gerard, do you have a shop manual? Dale | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 24 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 24 | Dale don't have a shop manual but have a number of books from that era. I realize now a shop manual will be handy. I have been getting a lot of conflicting answers about this truck some good and soon not so good. I order a manual from down South and even that leaves a lot of question unanswered. I guess my biggest problem is the size of the truck it is 1.5 ton and made here in Canada. Before I start work on this truck I want to makes sure I have all the right answers. Thanks for your input and I will be getting on to a shop manual soon Gerard | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 10 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 10 | Mine is also missing the e brake hardware. I can make all of my missing parts but the cables. If anyone knows a source, I'd appreciate it. I have found and old rusty mostly intact cable on a junk truck that I can copy if I have to have them made. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 165 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2002 Posts: 165 | Brake cables for .5 ton and 1.5 ton trucks are NOT the same. I have some NOS cables. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 | You might want to get in touch with 3B on this board - he has a whole flock of larger trucks, and is a great source of info. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 | got ebrake cables for my 38 1.5 ton from antique auto supply out of texas. about 40.00 each. | | |
