On my 54 1/2 ton trucks, the screen was a cad/galvanized color and the underside was black with body-color over-spray.

I soaked mine in Ospho and found what appeared to be cad on the screen area but also some dark paint. A lot of minor differences can be found from trucks assembled in the different plants.
