Still installing the new harness on my 55 second and am wondering about the signal light wiring. Appears to be aftermarket signal light housings front and rear with an original column switch. Fronts have a green and black wire with rears having a white and black. Harness has light blue left front and dark blue right front signal, purple left and right park. My question is regarding which wires go where on the front. 50/50 chance of getting it right but want to do it right once. I suspect the back is straight forward with white/black off the harness.

The stock signal switch wires are:

# White - brake light switch
# Pink - left brake light
# Black - right brake light
# Yellow - flasher
# Light blue - left front signal light
# Dark blue - right front signal light

I really don't understand the question. Looks like a new harness would have the proper colored wire and long enough to reach it's destination. Terminate the light blue at the left front and the dark blue at the right front. If you have aftermarket lights it would be by coincidence only if any of these colors match the signal housings.

maybe by "aftermarket" you mean reproduction - I believe some of them have green/brown instead of violet/blue [violet is park light both sides] .... you'll hafta just try one and see, not too hard to check the light assembly alone on a battery before you hook up, the brighter element is for turn

Thanks Bill. I was not sure which fillament on a dual fillament bulb is used for park/signal/brake. I did notice when I switched wires on the front park assy that the one fillament was brighter and faster then the other on the signal.

The harness seems to mimic the oem color coding except that the aftermarket signal assy`s don`t and hence the confusion. Also, the rear lighting wires coming out of the cab is as you have indicated, but, through a connector, continue through the frame black/white, which is similar to the oem harness I removed. Good news is I have starting and charging circuits working and just sorting through the lights.

Had another issue where there was no brake light on the left and after determining the ground was good, traced it using the schematic red58 gave me. Turned out to be a bad contact inside the signal light switch on the column...thanks red !!
