There were never any factory 4 bolt 327s, and only 68 and 69 327s were large journal. 69 was also the last year for both the 302 and 327. Anything is possible if the engine has been changed. If it is the original engine, however, it will be a 350 with that block.

Your truck would have a TH350 transmission in it from the factory. I think that the 3/4 ton and bigger pick-ups could be built with a TH400 transmission. Some of the more "basic" 3/4's did come with only a TH350. The only lighter trucks that did come with the TH400 were equipped with a big block motor. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 66 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 66 | My '70 GMC had a stock 350 that was blown shortly after it was bought from what I can tell. Right now it is a hodge podge Target Master Motor and the original together. your's is most likely a 350 though.

Devin Actually, there were 4 bolt 327s. However, they never made it to regular production. From what I was told (by a reliable source) GM did experiment with a 4 bolt 327 as a high rpm race only engine. Those experimants were wll before the 350 came to be.
