I would like to replace it with a sbc. What's involved with this swap? I'm concerned with motor mounts, mating the sbc to the original 4sp, clutch, flywheel and any other info I can get on this conversion. Thanks | | |

From what i have heard the bell housing should have the same bolt pattern..........but have not research much of this due to the cost of my 350 rebuild and my 305 is still runnin strong. You will need a bell housing for the Chevy V8 with the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder mount. Get one for a 60 or 61 Chevy pickup that had a V-8 and it should work. | | |

Main thing is the bellhousing. I do not remember all the details, but I think the mounts matched, just make sure the pads are the same. Then look at the gas linkage. Used to be really easy, when we went to the yard and scavenged a V8 Chevy to fix up the V6 Jimmy.
