Daybrooke was one of many midwestern brands that went under in the 60's and 70's. I know firsthand that Daybrooke survived until about 73 or so as I was selling against it at that time. It was built in northwestern OH but I don't recall the town offhand. It was a decent body but really had nothing to offer that the rest of us didn't also have. It was never a very large producer on the scale of Hercules, Perfection, Galion, Marion, Converto, Anthony, GarWood and others...all long gone. Too bad but others have sprung up. What is really amazing is that each one of these companies built their own hydraulic pump and cylinders, both piston and telescopic. Now NO-ONE build their own cylinders or pumps as these have become too costly to manufacture. And this is progress???
Oldirons comment about having subframes is wishful thing. Everyone had them. Converto actually invented the subframeless mount which has become the standard on telescopic tandem bodies.
