This is the first time for me and used the help of my son. Everything went fine until we started it up and could not get to go in gear without grinding. Took inspection cover off and clutch looks like it is operating correctly; but what do I know. Tried making adjustments but had same results. Clutch peddle feels fine could we have put disk in backwards or something stupid like that?? | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 461 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 461 | Yes, it is possible that you have the disc in backwards. The side with the damper springs goes to the pressure plate. Also, the disc should be marked with the flywheel side. Look on the hub for some notation about "Flywheel Side."

My son worked on it while I was at work and said that the trans was not in the neutral position when we put it back in. I honestly do not understand how that was the problem but its fixed and shifts smoothly. | | |
