My engine is in the process of being rebuilt. I am looking for a thermastat for a 1953, do they make one or is their something else that is used instead?

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

The chev. thermostats are all the same for many years. Any parts store can supply it. A 160 or 180 work best.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

It should work, Charley. For a quick parts cross-reference, go to a parts company web-page and see if the part number in their catalogue is the same for both engines. I go to the LMC Truck site for that.

Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice)
\'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run.
My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787.

Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.
