For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 9 | My 55 has the odor of gas in the truck - I have looked over all connections and lines and all ok - but on filler the cap does not have any rubber grommet and leaves quite an open space down to the filler tube from where the cap is. Is this the correct way for them to fit or is there a grommet or rubber seal missing. I am sure the pros on your yr. will fill ya in on all the gremlins that can kreep up and cause that nasty smell in your truck. It always seemed to smell a little gassy but I just attributed it to old truck smell . concidering the age of the truck I would assume the tank is at fault , but then again you know what they say about assuming. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 124 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 124 | it could be the gasket on the top of the tank where the gas level sending unit is. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 21 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 21 | like monkey said, i have the same problem in my 62 | | |
